About this model
The Ford GT Mk II was the ultimate evolution of Ford's first-generation GT40 program and the car that finally fulfilled Henry Ford II's ambition of defeating Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Developed jointly by Ford Advanced Vehicles, Shelby American, and Holman-Moody, the Mk II featured a strengthened steel monocoque chassis and the powerful 427 cubic-inch (7.0-liter) FE V8, producing nearly 500 horsepower. Its combination of immense power, durability, and reliability transformed the GT40 into one of the greatest endurance racing cars ever built, culminating in Ford's historic domination of Le Mans in 1966.
This Marsh Models 1:43 scale hand-built resin model faithfully reproduces the #5 Holman-Moody Ford GT Mk IIdriven by Ronnie Bucknum and Dick Hutcherson to 3rd Place Overall in the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans. Entered by Holman-Moody on behalf of the Ford Motor Company, the American pairing delivered a remarkably consistent drive in one of the most famous endurance races in history. Bucknum and Hutcherson completed 348 laps of the Circuit de la Sarthe to finish third overall, joining the winning Shelby American Ford GT Mk II of Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon and the second-place car of Ken Miles and Denny Hulme in Ford's legendary 1-2-3 overall finish. The result marked one of the greatest team performances ever achieved at Le Mans and ended Ferrari's six-year winning streak at the French endurance classic.
Expertly hand-built by Marsh Models, this finely detailed resin replica captures the distinctive white Holman-Moody livery with black accents, authentic race markings, a detailed cockpit, Halibrand wheels, and a race-specific configuration from one of the most significant events in endurance racing history. Produced in very limited numbers, it is an exceptional collectible for enthusiasts of Ford GT40s, Le Mans winners, and handcrafted artisan model cars.

Historical Note
Ford's famous 1-2-3 finish at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans remains one of the defining moments in motorsport history. While Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon claimed victory and Ken Miles and Denny Hulme finished second after the controversial staged finish, Ronnie Bucknum and Dick Hutcherson completed the podium with a faultless drive for Holman-Moody. Their third-place finish demonstrated the depth and reliability of Ford's GT Mk II program and helped secure one of the most dominant victories ever recorded at Le Mans, launching a four-year winning streak for the GT40.
