About this model
The Chaparral 2G was Jim Hall's bold evolution of the revolutionary Chaparral Can-Am program and one of the most technologically advanced sports racing cars of its era. Developed for the 1968 Canadian-American Challenge Cup, the 2G featured a lightweight fiberglass monocoque chassis clothed in aerodynamic fiberglass bodywork and powered by Chevrolet's all-aluminum 427 cu. in. (7.0-liter) big-block V8 producing well over 600 horsepower. Building upon the innovative concepts introduced with the Chaparral 2E, the 2G incorporated revised aerodynamics, wider tires, and continual suspension development in Hall's pursuit of Can-Am supremacy.
This Marsh Models 1:43 scale replica faithfully recreates the #66 Chaparral 2G driven by Jim Hall to a superb second-place finish at the Bridgehampton Can-Am race in 1968. Competing against the dominant McLaren M8A Chevrolets of Bruce McLaren and Denny Hulme, Hall demonstrated the competitiveness of the continually evolving Chaparral by finishing runner-up in one of the season's strongest performances. The result highlighted both Hall's exceptional driving ability and the innovative engineering that made Chaparral one of the most influential names in motorsport history.
Expertly handcrafted by Marsh Models, this limited-production 1:43 scale resin replica captures the distinctive Chaparral 2G in exceptional detail. The iconic white Chaparral livery, low-slung aerodynamic bodywork, prominent rear wing, wide Can-Am wheel arches, center-lock racing wheels, detailed cockpit, and authentic Bridgehampton race markings are faithfully reproduced. Produced in limited numbers, this museum-quality model is an outstanding addition for collectors of Chaparral racing cars, Jim Hall memorabilia, Can-Am legends, and innovative American sports prototypes.
